Kane County Hospital partnered with local grocery stores for the second annual summer Care & Share Round-Up Donation Drive, which took place from July 5 through July 18.
During the two-week event, shoppers at participating Kane County grocery stores could choose to round up their purchases or donate a specific dollar amount at checkout. All donations remained local to support the Care & Share Food Pantry in providing food assistance to community individuals and families.
The hospital stated that its commitment to partnering with local businesses for these donation drives includes twice-yearly efforts occurring in April and July.
A previous donation drive held earlier this spring raised thousands of dollars for Care & Share due to the generosity of residents, businesses, and grocery store partners. Kane County Hospital noted that access to nutritious food is a vital component of overall health and expressed gratitude to local grocery stores for their partnership in the effort.
The hospital emphasized that every contribution helps ensure local families have access to necessary food while working toward a healthier community.
