The Utah County Sheriff's Office stated it was unable to conduct criminal background investigations for private individuals upon request. For citizens requiring that type of criminal background investigation, the agency encouraged contacting the Utah State Bureau of Criminal Identification (BCI) for assistance.
Free local records check option
While unable to perform private criminal checks, the Utah County Sheriff's Office offered a Utah County Records Check. This service was provided free of charge and made available by request through the Utah County Sheriff's Office Records Division.
Process for law enforcement requests
