Mountain West Medical Center has been recognized as a top performer in the 2025 Bernard A. Birnbaum, MD, Quality Leadership Ranking by Vizient, Inc., according to a hospital announcement.
Details of quality ranking study
The recognition follows a study of 1,220 participating hospitals that measured performance across six domains: safety, mortality, effectiveness, efficiency, patient-centeredness, and variation in care. Phil Eaton, CEO of Mountain West Medical Center, said the award reflects the staff's commitment to providing high-quality care to the Tooele community.
New Medicare advisory partnership announced
In addition to the quality ranking, Mountain West Medical Center announced a partnership with Chapter, a team of licensed independent Medicare advisors, to assist local residents during the Medicare Open Enrollment period. The program provides free, personalized guidance to help seniors compare plans and maintain in-network coverage for their preferred providers.
Important Medicare enrollment dates
The Medicare Open Enrollment period runs from October 15 through December 7, with new coverage beginning January 1. The hospital noted that patients should review their options if their current health plan is not listed as in-network for the upcoming year.
Hospital services and affiliations
The medical center, a 44-bed facility affiliated with University of Utah Health, serves Tooele County and surrounding areas with services ranging from emergency care to orthopedic surgery.
