Zavier Gozo was named to the MLS
Soccer.com Matchday 13 Best XI for the 2026 MLS season following a standout performance. The Real Salt Lake star recorded his first career Major League Soccer brace during a 3-0 home win over Houston on Wednesday.
The West Valley-born and Eagle Mountain-raised Utah native moved into a tie for the Claret-and-Cobalt's 2026 Golden Boot lead with five goals and four assists in 12 games. Gozo's performance matched the goal total of rookie striker Sergi Solans.
At 19 years and 54 days old, Gozo became the youngest player in the 22-year history of Real Salt Lake to score multiple goals in a single game. He surpassed the previous record held by Diego Luna, who was 19 years and 311 days old when he achieved the feat on July 15, 2023.
The victory at America First Field improved the 2026 home record for Real Salt Lake to six wins and one loss. The club has won 14 of its last 20 home matches since June 1, 2025. The win also extended a 12-game consecutive sellout streak at the Sandy-based stadium.
Real Salt Lake was scheduled to host Colorado for the first of two Rocky Mountain Cup matches on Saturday, May 16. This match serves as the club's final home game before the summer FIFA World Cup hiatus.
