Salt Lake City Public Utilities is considering a rate change that would increase monthly costs for several residential water usage tiers, according to information released by the city on June 10.
Proposed residential rate increases
Under the proposed 2026 rate schedule, residential medium use customers in Salt Lake City would see a monthly increase of $23.64, rising from $81.13 to $104.77. For those living in Salt Lake County service areas, the same usage tier would jump from $109.53 to $141.43, a change of $31.91 per month.
High-use customer cost changes
High-use residential customers in Salt Lake County would face the largest increase, with monthly costs rising by $61.67 to reach $410.65. The city noted that utility rates are informed by studies conducted every six to eight years by a Rate Advisory Committee and vetted by the Mayor and City Council.
Helper City administrative resources
While Salt Lake City evaluates utility adjustments, Helper City continues to maintain various administrative resources for public use. The city's official document portal provides access to municipal codes, meeting minutes, and applications for business licenses and utility services.
Nibley City fiscal records access
In Nibley City, the municipality has maintained public access to its historical fiscal records, including budgets dating back several years and a proposed budget for the 2026-2027 fiscal year.
