After moving to Perry, Utah, as a child, Connie developed a lifelong work ethic and faith. She later moved to Huntington with her husband, Ken Gilbert, where they established a home focused on service and community.
Career as a beautician
For more than 45 years, Connie worked as a beautician, using her profession as a way to foster friendship and connection with others. She also prioritized creating a space in her Huntington home where she could continue her work and serve those she loved.
Marriage and family life
Connie and Ken Gilbert met on a blind date in Brigham City and were married on Valentine's Day following a six-week engagement. Together, they shared 45 years of marriage and raised four children.
Devotion to faith and service
Her faith was a central part of her life. She served in the temple for five years and remained a devoted follower of Jesus Christ even as myositis gradually limited her mobility.
Surviving family members
Connie is survived by her husband, Ken Gilbert; her sister-in-law, Tina Mace; four children, Jarett (Megan) Gilbert, Kevin (Michelle) Gilbert, Kenna (Kyle) Toone, and Jeremy (Chrissy) Gilbert; and 11 grandchildren.
Funeral and interment details
A funeral service is scheduled for Monday, June 22, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. at the Huntington Stake Center. A visitation will be held earlier that day from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Interment will follow at the Huntington City Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Mitchell Funeral Home of Price and Huntington.
