Firefighters from Logan’s Station 70 responded to a collision between an SUV and a semi-truck at 4:10 a.m. on Wednesday, August 19, 2026. The accident, which involved a Subaru SUV, resulted in serious injuries to a passenger after the vehicle struck the rear of a semi-trailer.
Collision Details and Injuries
According to a news release from Logan City Fire, the passenger car collided with the rear of the semi-trailer but missed the trailer itself, narrowly avoiding a direct impact by only a few inches. While the vehicle did not strike the trailer directly, the collision caused significant damage to the SUV and resulted in serious injuries to an occupant.
Vehicle Damage and Scene Observations
Photos released by Logan City Fire documented the extent of the wreckage at the scene. The front of the Subaru SUV was heavily smashed in from the impact with the semi. Additionally, metal from the semi-truck ripped through the driver-side door of the SUV in both the window area and near the lower seat cushion level. An airbag had deployed during the crash.
Emergency Response Efforts
Emergency responders were observed working to access a patient still inside the Subaru SUV. Medical personnel remained on standby with a prepared stretcher to assist the injured individual.
