Fewer people died on Utah roadways in 2017 compared to the previous year, according to the Utah Department of Transportation.
Data from the agency indicates that 273 people were killed in accidents during that year, which is seven fewer than the year prior.
While the total number of fatalities decreased, Utah Department of Transportation officials noted a shift in the causes of these accidents.
Fatalities involving distracted drivers dropped, but the number of deaths caused by aggressive drivers more than doubled.
