Union Middle School in Sandy, Utah, announced several updates and upcoming events in a newsletter posted on the school's website. The notice highlighted September as Attendance Awareness Month and provided details regarding school programs and community resources.
The school is promoting attendance through the Golden Bobcat program, where students can win prizes and earn points toward the Battle of the Bobcats. An after school program is set to begin, with activity schedules to be updated on the school website.
Scheduled school events include picture day on September 10, parent-teacher conferences on September 21-22, an early out schedule on September 24, and no school on September 25. A School Community Council meeting was scheduled for September 10 from 6-7 p.m. at the school.
Union Middle School is currently hiring a cashier for the cafeteria and a 20-hour para professional for the ACC class. Interested applicants can apply online at canyonsdistrict.org.
The school pantry is currently stocked with clothing, school supplies, and hygiene items. The school also offers weekend food bags, which are distributed in front of the auditorium and across from the gym for bus riders.
Regarding campus safety and traffic, officials requested that drivers pull all the way forward during student pick-up and drop-off to prevent traffic from backing up onto 700 East.
Donations to support the school pantry can be made monetarily or through the school's Amazon Wish List.
