The second Hope & Haircuts event is scheduled to take place in Ogden on Friday, Nov. 6, 2026. Held at Stephanie Jane Hair Co., the event will run from 2-6 p.m. to provide haircuts and resources to those in need.
Whitney Stybe, the program director for Action Recovery Group, stated that the organization is preparing for a larger turnout than their first event held in April. To reach participants, the group advertises at locations such as Weber Human Services, AP&P, and various local inpatient treatment centers.
In addition to haircuts, the event will feature a free community closet containing men's, women's, and children's clothing, as well as children's toys and household items. Attendees will be provided with bags to collect items. A free food truck will also be on site to provide food to those in attendance.
The organizers plan to offer more than 200 hygiene kits and 100 winter kits during the event. Representatives from various community resources, such as treatment centers, will be present to help direct individuals toward necessary services.
Stybe noted that the initiative aims to help people through difficult times by providing items like warm winter clothing and presents for children. The program's motto is described as fresh cuts, fresh starts, and a stronger community.
Stybe, who is in recovery herself, said her personal experiences drive the event's mission. She noted that as the weather turns cold, there is a significant need for resources to ensure people remain comfortable and have access to warm clothing without added stress. She currently runs a treatment center and observed a community need for this type of support.
The Hope & Haircuts event will be held for the second time at Stephanie Jane Hair Co. in Ogden from 2-6 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 6, 2026.
