The Brigham City Library is hosting its Summer Reading Challenge with registration available at the library between June 1 and July 19. Participants who register can receive a free book while supplies last.
Summer Reading Challenge Details
The challenge involves picking up an activity log in one of three categories: ages 0-5, ages 6-11, or ages 12-17. After completing all activities on a log, participants can turn it in for a small reward and may complete up to three logs total.
Deadlines and Grand Prize Drawings
All completed activity logs must be turned in by August 2. Every completed log enters the participant into grand prize drawings held on August 4.
Scheduled Summer Story Time Programs
Several scheduled programs are available throughout the summer. Summer Story Time for children ages 3-6 takes place on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 10:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. These 45-minute sessions include stories, songs, games, and crafts, though registration is required and a parent or adult must attend with children younger than 6.
Big Reads Story Time Information
For children ages 7-9, Big Reads Story Time is held on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 10:00 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. While parents do not need to attend, they must remain in the library during the activity. Registration is required for these sessions as well.
Family LEGO Night Events
Family LEGO Nights are scheduled for June 12 and July 31 at 7:00 p.m. These events feature building challenges, refreshments, and door prizes, but require registration due to limited space.
Summer Scavenger Hunt Themes
Drop-in scavenger hunts will take place all summer long with various themes:
June 5–17: Find the Story Squad
June 20–29: Going on a Gnome Hunt
July 1–8: Guess the Book - Quotes
July 10–22: Name the Shadow - Book Characters
July 25–August 12: Going on a Gnome Hunt
Additionally, drop-in library activities and art projects are available all summer on a first-come, first-serve basis while supplies last. No registration is required for these specific activities.
