The Bryant Middle School Library Learning Center provides students with access to digital reading tools including SORA and various eBooks. Students can use their Salt Lake City or Salt Lake County library card numbers and PINs to access these materials through Overdrive and other services.
Students in the school district are eligible for Salt Lake City Library cards.
The library offers instructions for downloading SORA as a mobile app or accessing it via computer through Canvas. For those using public library accounts, students can access Salt Lake City and Salt Lake County libraries by selecting the appropriate tab in their SORA account.
Regarding the importance of literacy, the library shared a video of Jason Reynolds responding to a student's question about why one should read. The library notes that reading serves as a tool for building empathy, finding information, preparing for high school, and understanding the world.
An October reading challenge is currently available where Arctic Circle is gifting a free Sundae to students who read five hours during the month of October. Students who reach seven hours of reading will receive an additional bonus prize from the library.
For assistance with library card numbers, PINs, or accessing the county library, Wendy Blankenship is available via email.
