Kane County 4-H has introduced its 2026–2027 Teen Council Leadership Team, according to a September 2 report. The group consists of young people selected to take on leadership roles within 4-H and the local community.
The Teen Council provides youth the opportunity to move beyond participating in programs to help create them. Members help plan, organize, and lead experiences for peers, younger youth, and the community, including summer camps, after-school STEM programs, service projects, healthy living activities, and community events.
Through these activities, members learn teamwork, communication, problem-solving, responsibility, and leadership. Training for the council also focuses on professional development, public speaking, college readiness, and career readiness.
