A registered hunting guide has been convicted of Attempted Destruction of Livestock after a search warrant uncovered video evidence of him shooting a bow at a herd of cattle, according to the Utah DNR Division of Law Enforcement.
Evidence Found During Poaching Probe
The evidence against the suspect was discovered during a recent poaching investigation. While executing a search warrant on the individual's cellphone, officers recovered video footage depicting the suspect shooting his bow at cattle.
Previous Wildlife Convictions
At the time of the incident, the suspect was already serving a license suspension resulting from a previous wildlife crime. Following the discovery of the new evidence, the individual was convicted of Attempted Destruction of Livestock.
License Suspensions and Penalties
In addition to being ordered to pay significant legal fees, the suspect now faces a long-term suspension of both his hunting and guiding licenses. The Utah DNR Division of Law Enforcement noted that the investigation involved coordination with the Department of Agriculture to hold the individual accountable for his actions.
