Following the announcement of MICHELIN-recommended restaurants in Utah, local picks have been identified for potential star ratings, according to a August 26 report. The rating system defines one star as a restaurant worth a stop, two stars as worth a detour, and three stars as worth planning a trip around.
Victor’s Tires and Restaurant received a two-star rating in the report. The establishment is noted for its tamales, which feature flavorful filling and moist, tender masa, as well as its rice and beans. The smothered tamales combo is priced under $15 and offers portions large enough for both lunch and dinner.
Koyote, a ramen and tapas restaurant in Salt Lake City, was also given a two-star rating. The venue is noted for serving food designed to be shared, utilizing familiar ingredients prepared in unexpected ways with spicy, savory, sweet, and tangy flavors. Recommended menu items include house gyoza, karage wings, deluxe chashu-don, and whipped tofu.
Feldman’s Deli received a one-star rating. The Jewish deli has previously received a Bib Gourmand award for serving exceptional food at a great value. Michael and Janet Feldman opened the deli in 2012 after moving from New Jersey to Salt Lake City in 2000 to find classic New York-style food, such as pastrami, bagels, and matzo ball soup.
