The Park City Outliers saw their five-game winning streak end with a 4-2 road loss to the Vernal Oilers on Saturday, October 24.
While the Outliers were outshot 40-22, they did not trail until the third period of the game.
Head coach Richard Bohan stated that the team needs more consistency through the middle period, noting that players sometimes lose focus during the second period.
Bohan noted that the team faced four penalties in the third period compared to zero for the Oilers. Both teams finished the game with a 1-for-6 performance on the powerplay.
Netminder Will Zinnen recorded 36 saves in his first loss of the season. Bohan described Zinnen as solid throughout the night, noting he kept the team in the game with big saves.
The Outliers received goals from Alaska-born forwards Grant Barksdale and Burke Newton, with Barksdale scoring in the first period and Newton in the second.
