Provo Airport Director Brian Torgersen, C.M., received the Airport Executive of the Year Award from the Northwest Chapter of the American Association of Airport Executives (NWAAAE), according to a notice on the Provo city website.
The award was presented during the NWAAAE Annual Meeting in Missoula, Montana, which was held September 22–24. According to a nomination for the award, Torgersen has shown an ability to manage complex construction programs while prioritizing the airport's operational needs, financial position, and community expectations.
Torgersen has worked for Provo City since 2010 and has overseen the airport since 2017. He served as the airport's first director after the city established it as a separate department. Under his leadership, Provo Airport surpassed 1 million annual passengers in 2025, approximately a decade before earlier projections suggested.
Torgersen has led an expansion program aimed at balancing long-term needs, fiscal responsibility, and the passenger experience.
