Salt Lake County Library is launching new community programming this week, including a digital literacy course in Millcreek and preparations for the upcoming ToshoCON anime convention scheduled for September.
New Digital Literacy Course
A six-week introductory course titled Tech On Digital Foundations began Monday in Millcreek. Held at the Millcreek Storytime Room in partnership with Millcreek City, the class teaches participants the fundamental functions of using a laptop computer.
ToshoCON Anime Convention Details
The County Library also announced details for ToshoCON 2026, a free anime convention designed specifically for teens. The event is scheduled to take place at the library's Viridian Event Center in West Jordan on September 11 from 4–9 p.m. and September 12 from 3–9 p.m.
Convention Features and Applications
The upcoming convention will feature cosplay, art contests, anime music videos, and teen-led panel discussions. The library is currently accepting applications for various event roles, including vendors, which are open through June 30, and contest or showcase participants, which are open until July 18.
Song Requests for Attendees
ToshoCON organizers are also inviting attendees to contribute to the event's atmosphere by submitting song requests for the Random Play Dance session.
