Belchetz, a native of Oakville, Ontario, brings a diverse athletic background to the professional ranks. Before focusing on hockey, he spent his youth playing baseball, lacrosse, and football. He is part of a family deeply rooted in athletics and medicine; his parents, Lance and Tanya, both work in the medical field, while his sister, Taylor, competes as a goalie for the University of Connecticut.
Rising Through the OHL
The prospect's journey through the youth hockey ranks began in his hometown with the Oakville Rangers U14 AAA, U15 AAA, and U16 AAA teams. Belchetz transitioned to the Ontario Hockey League (OHL), where he spent the last two seasons playing for the Windsor Spitfires. His development in the OHL saw a significant statistical surge between his rookie and sophomore campaigns.
Statistical Growth in Windsor
During his rookie season in the OHL, Belchetz earned a spot on the league's Second All-Rookie Team. He recorded 38 points through 56 games, consisting of 17 goals and 21 assists. In his following season, his production increased substantially as he tallied 34 goals and 25 assists for 59 points across 57 games. His 34 goals ranked second on the Windsor Spitfires roster, while his 59 points were fourth on the team.

Belchetz has also found success on the international stage while representing Canada. He earned a bronze medal at the 2025 Hlinka Gretzky Cup, where he contributed seven points—four goals and three assists—in the tournament, tying him for fifth in overall scoring.
