TNT Sports announced its 72-game regular season schedule for the 2026-27 NHL season in a report published August 26. The television slate begins on Wednesday, Sept. 30, with a doubleheader featuring the Pittsburgh Penguins visiting the Philadelphia Flyers and the Los Angeles Kings visiting the Colorado Avalanche.
The upcoming season features the Discover NHL Winter Classic on Thursday, Dec. 31, at Rice-Eccles Stadium in Salt Lake City. During this outdoor showcase, the Utah Mammoth will host the Colorado Avalanche.
Other scheduled highlights include the annual Thanksgiving Showdown on Black Friday, Nov. 27, which will feature a doubleheader between the New York Rangers and the Chicago Blackhawks, and the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Buffalo Sabres. Additionally, the 2026 Tim Hortons NHL Heritage Classic will take place on Sunday, Oct. 25, as the Winnipeg Jets host the Montreal Canadiens at Princess Auto Stadium.
The regular season schedule includes several Original Six rivalries, such as the Montreal Canadiens at the New York Rangers on Nov. 16 and the Toronto Maple Leafs at the Chicago Blackhawks on Tuesday, Nov. 17. The Pittsburgh Penguins will make a schedule-leading 10 appearances throughout the regular season.
Coverage will expand with a Sunday slate during the second half of the season, including five consecutive Sundays from Feb. 21 through March 21. The regular season is scheduled to conclude on Thursday, April 8, with the Columbus Blue Jackets visiting the Philadelphia Flyers.
The 2026-27 season will culminate with TNT Sports providing exclusive presentation of the 2027 Stanley Cup Playoffs, including the 2027 Stanley Cup Final.
