A Union Pacific Railroad train left the tracks on Sunday afternoon near Mills, located approximately 13 miles west of Levan. The derailment occurred when the locomotive went over a small bridge.
The incident involving the coal-hauling train caused some of the coal to ignite, resulting in smoke visible in the Juab County sky.
Fire crews arrived at the scene swiftly and managed to contain the blaze before it could spread beyond the tracks.
The cause of the derailment remains unknown at this time.
