An MCPD officer stopped the semi truck at 2 p.m. on September 1, 2026, near 500 W. Highway 191. The vehicle was traveling at 50 m.p.h. in a 30 m.p.h. construction zone.
Through a California Commercial Driver’s License, officers identified the driver as 30-year-old Chamkaur Singh. A records check revealed a nationwide extradition warrant issued by the California Highway Patrol on April 4, 2026. The warrant is for Homicide-Vehicular Manslaughter with no bail.
Police coordinated with the California Highway Patrol to confirm Singh's identity using a photograph. Officers noted the incident that led to the fugitive warrant involved the deaths of four people and a firearm, though specific details of that incident were unknown.
