A daytime lane closure will occur along Pole Canyon Boulevard at Lake Mountain Road starting Monday, May 11, through Friday, May 15. The closure is part of an infrastructure project to install a new waterline that will connect to the City's upcoming water tank facility.
Daily closures are scheduled from 8:30 AM to 2:15 PM and again from 3:15 PM to 9:00 PM. The road will briefly reopen between 2:15 PM and 3:15 PM to accommodate school pick-up.
The proposed lane closure is necessary for the safe construction of a waterline intended to maintain reliable water service for current residents and future growth. This infrastructure improvement is expected to enhance system capacity, pressure consistency, and fire flow availability.
City officials noted that without this connection, the system could face increased strain from continued development, potentially leading to reduced service reliability. The lane closure allows construction crews to work efficiently and safely within the roadway corridor, as maintaining full traffic access during utility installation would increase safety risks, extend project duration, and raise costs.
Eagle Mountain Assistant City Engineer David Salazar stated that while short-term inconvenience is expected, the improvement ensures long-term reliability of the water system, enhances fire protection, and supports responsible growth.
To minimize impacts, the closure will be temporary. Traffic control measures will follow City standards to maintain safe travel, with efforts made to limit disruptions during peak travel times where feasible.
