Southern Utah University has received several national recognitions, including being named a 2026-2027 College of Distinction for its student-first mentorship and high-value education. The university was also recognized as one of the nation's highest performing colleges and universities for student satisfaction.
The university's Master of Accountancy was ranked nationwide as being best for job security, noting a 96.5% graduate employment rate. Additionally, the online Master's in Cybersecurity with Information Assurance earned 8th place in the Cybersecurity Guide's 2026 rankings for value, quality, and affordability.
Southern Utah University's nursing program received recognition as a Nursing College of Distinction for the 2025-2026 academic year. The university's online Nursing Leadership & Administration Graduate Certificate Program was also ranked third in Utah for 2026.
New academic offerings include a Bachelor of Science in Professional Sales scheduled for fall 2026 and an expanded in-person Master of Science in Business Analytics (MSBA) program also beginning this fall. The university is also launching a 7-week Salesforce Sales Foundations course starting Sept. 14 to assist with career readiness.
Other institutional achievements include earning a Gold Level designation from Exercise is Medicine for its campus wellness culture. The university was also selected as an official Peace Corps Prep university.
