The statewide average gas price in Utah has increased, rising by 16 cents over the past week, according to a September 16 report from Mid-Utah Radio.
Triple-A stated that the average cost for a gallon of self-serve regular has reached $4.80.
In Utah, the highest average gas price is located in Rich County, where prices have reached $5.04 per gallon. The lowest average price in the state is found in Daggett County at $4.70 per gallon.
According to the report, these price increases occur as conflicts in the Middle East disrupt key oil delivery routes in the Red Sea, the Persian Gulf, and in Saudi Arabia.
