Antelope Island State Park is preparing to open an expanded visitor and learning center scheduled for early-to-mid 2026. The new facility will feature the Larry H. & Gail Miller Family Theater, which is set to host the 3D documentary Secrets of Great Salt Lake on a giant screen.

The park offers more than 45 miles of trails for hikers of various abilities, with dogs allowed on leash. Most hiking trails are also open to biking, though Frary Peak and Dooly Knob are exceptions. Road biking is also permitted within the park. For equestrian visitors, hitching rails are available at the Mountain View, White Rock Bay, and Fielding Garr Ranch trailheads.

To assist those with mobility issues, a Trail Chair sponsored by Friends of Antelope Island is available at the park Visitor Center. Use of the chair requires at least two other people to assist with it.

The park hosts an annual Bison Roundup to help manage one of the nation's largest and oldest public bison herds. The 2026 event schedule includes the roundup (bison push) on October 24, the working of the bison from October 27 through October 29, and an online bison auction on November 4. While the public can witness the horseback riders moving nearly 800 bison into holding corrals without registration, the event serves as a primary tool for herd health management.

Since Spring 2017, Antelope Island State Park has been designated as an International Dark Sky Park (Bronze Tier) by the International Dark Sky Association. This designation provides an exceptional quality of starry nights, allowing visitors to participate in astronomy programs, star parties, camping, and stargazing.

Additional amenities at the park include the Island Buffalo Grill at Bridger Bay Beach, which operates from March 1 to November 1. The park is open year-round from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., though it closes on Thanksgiving and Christmas. The Visitor Center operates from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and the Fielding Garr Ranch Museum and Exhibit is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., with self-guided options available outside of those hours.

The park is managed by Park Manager Doranne Pittz and Assistant Park Manager LeeAnn Burrill.
