The Escalante City Council has scheduled a regular meeting for Sept. 15, 2026, according to a notice published Sept. 10. The meeting is set to begin at 6:00 p.m. at the Escalante City Council Chambers, located at 65 North Center Street.
The agenda for the upcoming meeting includes the adoption of the agenda and approval of the minutes from the Sept. 1, 2026, regular meeting. Scheduled items for discussion include a Constitution Week Proclamation by Harriet Priska, a scarecrow contest by Cassie Mack, and a donation for a Washington D.C. trip by the Escalante 6th Grade Class.
Additional scheduled items involve an asphalt bid for a shade structure, a URS Tier 2 update regarding policies and procedures, and an estimate for a landfill fence. The council will also hear reports from various departments and council members, covering topics such as administrative, public works, fire, water, airport, streets, storm water drainage, building, parks and recreation, main street, clinic, sanitation, and the landfill.
Public comment is permitted for items not on the agenda, with a two-minute maximum per individual. The meeting may include a tentative closed session in accordance with Utah Code 52-4-205.
