The Utah Electric Vehicle Replacement Assistance Program (EVRAP) opened for applications in Utah County last month. The program was designed to assist income-qualified Utah residents in replacing older, higher-polluting gasoline or diesel vehicles with either a new or used all-electric vehicle.
Eligible participants could receive up to $10,000 in financial assistance, with the amount depending on household income.
By facilitating the retirement of older vehicles and increasing the affordability of electric vehicles, EVRAP aimed to improve air quality, reduce transportation emissions, and support healthier communities throughout Utah.
To determine eligibility or learn more about EVRAP, individuals were directed to visit the Utah Department of Environmental Quality. Applications for the program in Utah County could be submitted through the Utah County Air Quality page.
