The Lehi City Council considered several action items during its regular-session meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 8, according to a Sept. 11 report by the Alpine-Highland-Lehi Tribune. Among the items on the agenda were a proposed increase to the residential solar energy cap and the seating of the inaugural members of a new Small Business Advisory Council.
Under Ordinance #37-2026, the council considered amending the Lehi Development Code to raise the current 10-kilowatt cap on both roof-mounted and ground-mounted residential solar installations. While the city has not published the new limit, non-residential systems are already permitted to exceed 10 kW through negotiation with Lehi Power Director Joel Eves. This amendment follows a public hearing held by the Lehi Planning Commission on Aug. 13.
The council also addressed Resolution #2026-51 to seat the first members of the Lehi Small Business Advisory Council (SBAC). The panel, established by a guiding policy dated April 15, will consist of 15 to 21 private-sector members representing Lehi-based businesses with one to 50 full-time employees. Members serve initial four-year terms, with half of the inaugural class serving two-year terms to stagger turnover. The names of the appointees were not released.
Other items on the agenda included updates to the Parks, Arts, Recreation and Culture (PARC) tax program guidelines and the adoption of a citywide data privacy program policy. The data privacy move follows a Feb. 26 cybersecurity breach at the Lehi Legacy Center's sports registration software that was disclosed on April 9.
The council also considered a charitable grant agreement with Mill Pond Water LLC and a transportation plan update. Meeting minutes had not been published as of Sept. 10, so it was not confirmed which items passed during the session.
