Amelia Earhart Elementary is scheduled to participate in Utah’s Statewide Read-A-Thon by hosting a Read With a Child Day on Friday, Oct. 2, 2026, according to a Sept. 14 report.
The event is scheduled to take place from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., inviting parents, guardians, and family members to visit the school to read with students.
Families are permitted to read with students in their classrooms. For those with multiple children, the school allows families to pick up a student from a classroom to read together in another classroom or in the library.
Visitors who arrive before the event starts may wait in the library until reading begins at 9:30 a.m. All visitors are required to check in at the front office with a valid photo ID before entering the building. School officials suggested arriving early to allow time for the check-in process.
During the event, families can visit tables in the library to pick up free, gently used books to take home and add to their home libraries.
