A severe storm near Lynndyl caused significant damage in Millard County on Aug. 29, according to a report published August 30. The storm knocked over 34 train cars and caused widespread destruction, including broken windows and trees being ripped from the ground.
The National Weather Service reported that winds during the storm reached at least 70 to 90 mph, with potential speeds of 100 mph. The storm was accompanied by large hail and caused significant damage to roofs and sidings in the area.
An investigation is currently underway to determine if a tornado touched down during the event.
