Parents can now view recent state assessment results for students in Alpine School District by logging into Skyward. The assessments, which thousands of students across 90 schools took this spring, are available via the Portfolio tab in Skyward.
Types of assessments available
Results are available for several state-required assessments, including ASPIRE for grades 9–10, RISE for grades 3–8, Acadience Math for grades K–3, Acadience Reading for grades K–6, and WIDA English Language Proficiency for grades K-12.
Importance of analyzing test data
Jason Crowton, Director of Results and Achievement for Alpine School District, stated that these reports are important for both educators and parents. He noted that analyzing this data helps identify patterns, strengths, and areas for improvement at student, classroom, school, and district levels.
Supporting student improvement through partnership
Crowton added that when parents understand these results, they are better equipped to partner with teachers and students in continuous improvement. Each report includes the student's results along with information from assessment vendors to help families interpret what the scores mean.
Testing timeline and data verification
The testing process began in mid-March and concluded in mid-May, involving 85,000 students. After state officials delivered official scores to the district in late May, the Results and Achievement team performed data entry and quality assurance checks to ensure reports were associated with the correct students.

Crowton emphasized that the team handles these files with care because they represent individual reflections of student learning rather than just data points.
Role of statewide standardized assessments
According to the Utah State Board of Education, statewide assessments provide a standardized source of information regarding student proficiency and help guide instructional planning.
