SunTran announced that it will change its route operations starting September 8, 2026, to improve scheduling and reliability. According to a notice on the city's website, the changes involve moving to continuous routes where buses will no longer switch to different routes during the day.
Under the new system, each bus will stay on its designated route for its entire shift. Riders who require travel on a different route will need to transfer buses at a designated transfer point rather than staying on the same bus.
The city advised riders to plan commutes accordingly and check updated schedule boards for transfer locations. SunTran officials noted that riders should arrive at stops at least five minutes early, as stop schedules may fluctuate a minute or two depending on traffic.
