SALT LAKE CITY (Oct. 7, 2026) — The Utah Department of Transportation is encouraging drivers to plan ahead for nightly lane closures on northbound Interstate 15 in Utah County.

Beginning Wednesday, Oct. 7, and continuing each night except Friday through the morning of Monday, Oct. 12, crews on northbound I-15 at 2100 North (Exit 282) will close lanes, eventually reducing northbound I-15 to one lane. More details on the lane closures can be found below:

Wednesday, Oct. 7: Crews will begin closing lanes on northbound I-15 at 7 p.m. and anticipate northbound travel to be restricted to one lane by midnight. All lanes will be fully reopened by 4 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 8.

Thursday, Oct. 8: Crews will begin closing lanes on northbound I-15 at 7 p.m. and anticipate northbound travel to be restricted to one lane by midnight. Lanes will be fully reopened by 4 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 9.

Friday, Oct. 9: All lanes will remain open to assist drivers heading to Provo for BYU’s homecoming activities and football game.

Saturday, Oct. 10: Crews will begin closing lanes on northbound I-15 at 7 p.m. and anticipate northbound travel to be restricted to one lane by midnight. Lanes will be fully reopened by 7 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 11.

Sunday, Oct. 11: Crews will begin closing lanes on northbound I-15 at 7 p.m. and anticipate northbound travel to be restricted to one lane by midnight. Lanes will be fully reopened by 5 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 12.

During these lane closures, crews will shift northbound I-15 lanes toward the center median. With the new space, the 2100 North project will relocate utilities, build a stabilizing soil wall and begin work on the foundations for the new 2100 North interchange. The traffic shift on northbound I-15 is anticipated to remain in place through May of 2027.

Once finished in late 2028, the 2100 North project will have built a new 2.8-mile freeway connection between Mountain View Corridor and I-15, created a new I-15 interchange and improved pedestrian and bike connections throughout the area.

Drivers should also be aware of several closures of westbound SR-201 in Tooele. Beginning Wednesday, Oct. 7 at 10 p.m. until Thursday, Oct. 8 at 5 a.m., the ramp from westbound SR-201 to I-80 will be closed for repairs. The ramp will close again on Thursday, Oct. 8 at 10 p.m. until Monday, Oct. 12 at 5 a.m. During these closures, traffic on westbound SR-201 will be detoured onto SR-202 to access I-80.

UDOT reminds drivers that construction schedules are weather-dependent and subject to change. For the latest updates, visit the UDOT Traffic website or download the UDOT Traffic app for iPhone or Android. You can also follow UDOT on X, Facebook and Instagram for real-time updates.
