Box Elder School District is providing flexible, accredited online courses for students in grades 9 through 12. The district's mission for its distance learning program is to provide every student with equitable access to high-quality, flexible learning opportunities that meet them where they are, allowing them to earn credit and build skills on a schedule that works for them.
Available Course Subjects
The course catalog includes a wide range of subjects including English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, Physical Education, Health, Financial Literacy, Fine Arts, and CTE/Digital Literacy. For example, English Language Arts courses for various grade levels are aligned with the 2023 Utah Core Standards. Mathematics offerings include Secondary Math I, II, and III, while science options include Earth Science.
Social Studies and Specialized Courses
Social studies courses feature subjects such as Geography, US History II, Sports Psychology, and History Through Film. Physical education options range from Participation Skills to Individual Lifetime Activities. Additionally, the catalog includes specialized courses like Financial Literacy, which is a graduation requirement for Utah students, as well as Web Development and Digital Business Applications.
In-Person Testing Requirements
All online courses include a testing center requirement, meaning all assessments must be taken in person at an approved Testing Center. Students can schedule tests at locations including BEHS, BEMS, BRMS, BRHS, and Sunrise.
