The Hyrum City Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on Thursday, October 8, 2026, to discuss proposed amendments to Title 17 of the Hyrum City Municipal Code, according to a September 4 statement.
The hearing is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. at the Hyrum City Council Chambers located at 60 West Main, Hyrum. The purpose of the meeting is to receive public comment regarding an ordinance that would amend the Hyrum City Municipal Code.
Proposed changes include amending Section 17.38.005, Purpose, to clarify the zone district. Additionally, the ordinance seeks to amend Section 17.38.020 Area Regulations to change the minimum lot area for a single-family residence from 12,000 square feet to 43,560 square feet.
Copies of the proposed amendments are available at the Hyrum City Office, 60 West Main, Hyrum, on weekdays between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Documents are also available on the city's website.
