The Summit County Council is scheduled to hold a public hearing on September 23, 2026, to discuss a proposed general obligation bond for the Snyderville Basin Special Recreation District, according to a notice published September 3.
The Council adopted a resolution on August 19, 2026, to authorize calling an election regarding a proposition for the issuance of the District's General Obligation Bonds. The public hearing is intended to gather input on the issuance of these bonds and any potential economic impact that the financed improvements, facilities, or properties may have on the private sector.
The proposed bonds would have an aggregate principal amount not to exceed $71,000,000. These funds are intended to finance all or a portion of the costs for constructing or acquiring recreational facilities, related site improvements, and trail and open space improvements within the District, as well as paying the costs of bond issuance.
The bonds will be secured by ad valorem property taxes levied by the County on residents within the District to the extent authorized by law. The Council may determine to sell the bonds in one or more series from time to time.
The public hearing will take place at 6:00 p.m. at the Richins Building Auditorium, located at 1885 W. Ute Blvd., Park City, Utah, 84098. All members of the public are invited to attend and participate.
