Local youth recently participated in an interactive Virtual Reality career exploration event hosted by the Valley Crossroads Chamber of Commerce. The free program, held in partnership with the Department of Workforce Services, allowed participants to explore various career options through virtual simulations.
The event utilized Transfr Trek, a virtual reality career exploration program designed to help participants identify potential career paths. The process began with a career assessment that matched individuals with occupations based on their specific interests.
Through short virtual reality simulations, youth were able to view real-world job tasks and workplace environments. These simulations introduced students to the responsibilities, training, and skills required for several industries, including healthcare, construction, technology, public safety, manufacturing, transportation, business, and agriculture.
An additional opportunity for participation is available for those who could not attend the recent event. The next Youth Career Exploration Event is scheduled for Wednesday, August 26, from 1 to 3 PM at the Valley Crossroads Chamber of Commerce.
