Centennial Middle School will resume classes on Tuesday, September 8, according to a September 7 statement from Dr. Edwards. The return to school follows a Labor Day break.
Parent-teacher conferences are scheduled for Wednesday, September 16, at Centennial Middle School. These in-person sessions will occur in the gyms from 3:15pm to 6:15pm.
On that same day, the school will host the District Parent Resource Night in the cafeteria from 6:00pm to 7:30pm. Families may attend during or after the parent-teacher conferences.
Regarding student activities and testing, the school is conducting its final week of Beginning-of-Year NWEA testing, specifically the Reading assessment and any necessary make-up tests. Additionally, the After-School Program is set to begin Monday, September 14. A safety drill to practice Lockdown Protocol is also scheduled for Monday, September 14.
The school is participating in a districtwide and statewide Read-a-Thon for the ProvoREADS initiative on Friday, October 2, from 9:30am to 10:30am.
Centennial Middle School is also evaluating its current 5x5 A/B schedule. Officials are currently gathering feedback from parents and educators to determine if the school should continue with the current schedule or explore other options. No decision has been made, and further information regarding this evaluation will be shared on the school website.
The school is also hosting a PTA Reflections Contest and encouraged community members to check the weekly newsletter for more details regarding various school updates.
