Canyon Crest has announced three openings for parents to serve on the School Community Council (SCC) for the 2026-2027 school year, according to a notice from the school. The council plays a role in supporting student learning by assisting in decisions regarding approximately $100,000 in school funding.
Members of the SCC work together to review school needs and develop plans to improve student success. Council discussions include reviewing student data from state and district assessments, addressing safety concerns, and creating action plans based on school data.
To serve on the council, members must have a child attending Canyon Crest. The council meets once a month, and members are encouraged to serve a two-year term.
Nominations are being accepted from August 10 through August 19 at 11:59 PM. If more than three nominations are received, a parent election will be held. Voting is scheduled to begin August 20 and will close at 4:00 PM on August 23. Paper ballots will be available in the front office if needed.
Interested parents are encouraged to get involved by filling out the nomination form.
