The South Salt Lake City Council is scheduled to hold a regular meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2026. According to an October 9 notice, the meeting will take place in the City Council Chambers at 220 East Morris Avenue, Suite 200, starting at 7:00 p.m.
The agenda for the upcoming meeting includes several mayoral appointments for the Planning Commission. The Mayor intends to appoint Kathy Self as a regular member, Amanda Rainey as a regular member, and Jessica Bird as an alternate member.
In addition to appointments, the council will consider several ordinances and resolutions. Proposed action items include amendments to the South Salt Lake Municipal Code regarding administrative hearings, storm water system violation fees, and regulations for body art establishments. The council will also review ordinances concerning restricted travel, parking, and idling for large vehicles and auxiliary power units.
Unfinished business scheduled for the meeting includes reviews of several city reports and assessments. The council is set to review the 2025 South Salt Lake City Municipal Wastewater Planning Program report and a presentation regarding the city's fraud risk assessment. Additionally, the council will acknowledge the presentation of the South Salt Lake Transportation Utility Fee Annual Review and Report.
The meeting will be conducted by Nick Mitchell, District 4, with Sharla Bynum serving as Council Chair. The South Salt Lake Police Department will provide the Sergeant at Arms. The session is expected to run until approximately 8:00 p.m.
