The Riverton City Council scheduled a public hearing for Tuesday, September 1, 2026, to discuss multiple development and rezoning applications, according to a August 14 notice. The meeting is set to begin at 7:00 p.m. at the Riverton City Municipal Building located at 12830 South Redwood Road.
One item on the agenda involves the Majestic Homes Rezone, application PLZ-26-4002. The application seeks to rezone approximately 3.14 acres at 13172 South Redwood Road from C-N (Neighborhood Commercial) and RR-22 (Residential 1/2-acre lots) to the RM-14 (Multifamily 14 units per acre) zone. This request also includes amending the General Plan from Medium-Density Residential to High-Density Residential. The applicants are David Larsen and Kevin Gust.
The council will also consider the Timberline Development Agreement, PLZ-25-4009, regarding approximately 4.24 acres at 13518 and 13506 South Redwood Road. The proposed agreement would change the zoning to RM-8 (multi-family with 8 units per acre) while limiting the project to detached single family units on individual lots. The agreement also proposes amending the General Plan to Medium High Density Residential and approving a preliminary subdivision layout, development standards, and a private road network.
The Timberline project has modified its proposal regarding road connections due to Utah Department of Transportation requirements for access to Redwood Road. At the request of UDOT, the project now proposes a gated connection to 1775 West and accommodation for a future connection at 13550 South. The project previously proposed a public road connection to Redwood Road only, including an emergency services turn-around at the end of 1775 West.
The meeting is open to the public and will be broadcast live via audio and video. Public comments may be submitted by phone at 801-208-3149 or via email to planning@rivertonutah.gov before 4:00 p.m. on the date of the hearing. Individuals requiring special accommodations can notify the City Recorders Office at 801-208-3126 at least two business days in advance.
