Springville High School officially opened its 2026-2027 school year on August 18, marking the beginning of a new academic term following a scheduled back-to-school night held on Monday, August 17. The return to classes follows a period of athletic activity, including a football scrimmage held on August 7.
Academic and Nutritional Services
The commencement of the school year comes after a series of preparatory events for the student body. According to Springville High School, the school held a back-to-school night on Monday, August 17, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM to welcome families back to the campus.
As the new term begins, the school has also opened applications for free and reduced lunch programs for the 2026-2027 school year. Springville High School officials noted that families must re-apply for eligibility each year, as previous year eligibility does not carry over. Applications can be submitted via the LINQ app or through LINQCONNECT.COM by selecting the School Services menu and choosing the Free & Reduced Meal Application option.
Staffing and Employment Opportunities
Springville High School is also actively recruiting for its lunchroom crew to support student needs throughout the academic year. The Nebo School District Child Nutrition Team is seeking hardworking members to join the staff at the high school.
Available shifts for the Springville High School position include Mondays from 7:00 AM to 12:30 PM, and Tuesday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 1:00 PM. Campus Transition and Legacy
The current academic year follows a period of significant transition for the Springville High School campus. In recent months, the school community participated in events related to the decommissioning of the original school building.
During a community sale held in May, the school offered furniture, classroom items, equipment, and decor for sale as the old building was scheduled for demolition. Additionally, the school offered pieces of the original gym floor to the community, including 12-inch by 12-inch pieces for $25, larger 10-inch by 16-inch pieces with replica decals for $50, and select letters from the original Springville court ends for $200.
Leadership and Administration
The transition to the new school year also follows a period of recognition for school leadership. Principal Robert Fleming was recently named the Nebo School District Principal of the Year, receiving the Crystal Owl award at the District Office.
As the 2026-2027 school year progresses, the school continues to manage various administrative functions, including summer hours for the Finance and Front offices, which were scheduled to operate Monday through Thursday from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM during the summer period.
Academic Milestones
The school year also marks the beginning of a new chapter following the graduation of the Class of 2026. The graduation ceremony was held at the UCCU Center on May 19, with the event featuring security and entry screening protocols implemented by UVU Security and Guest Services.
