Provo City School District is celebrating National School Lunch Week from Oct. 12–16 with a theme titled Cafeteria Circus: Where School Meals Take Center Stage, according to a Oct. 12 statement.
The week-long celebration includes circus-themed decorations, photo booths, special menus, and various activities for students. Depending on the specific school, students may participate in trivia, coloring contests, prize drawings, and other festivities. The district noted that students who bring lunch from home are also invited to participate.
Child Nutrition teams have prepared several themed menu options for the week. The scheduled menu includes pizza croissants or circus corn dogs for Monday, tumbling tachos or ringleader burgers for Tuesday, spaghetti and cannonball meatballs or pizza for Wednesday, tightrope tacos or the magic muffin meal for Thursday, and lion tamer pot pie or big top cheesy dunk for Friday.
The district stated that the week serves as an opportunity to recognize Child Nutrition employees who provide nutritious meals and support student learning throughout the year.
