The Uintah County Planning Commission will hold a meeting at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 18, 2026, according to a public notice. The meeting is scheduled to take place at the State/County Building on the second floor in the Commission Chamber, located at 152 East 100 North, Vernal.
The agenda includes several public hearings regarding rezoning and conditional use permits. Bobby Riding has requested a rezone from A4 to C2 for properties located at 5780 E 50 N Fort Duchesne, 5806 E 50 N Fort Duchesne, and 5824 E 50 N Fort Duchesne.
Other conditional use permit requests include Mariel and Callie Peterson seeking permission for multiple flag lots at 5335 S 3150 E, Vernal. Kendall Recycling Facility-Uinta Wax Operating LLC is requesting a permit for minor pond wall repairs, liner additions, and upgrades to convert an existing facility into a permitted exploration and production water recycling facility at 5482 S 5500 E, Independence.
Additionally, Eastern Water Solutions has requested a conditional use permit for a landfill addition to wastewater disposal pits at 13752 E HWY 40, Gusher. Phase One Properties LLC is requesting a conditional use permit for a Planned Unit Development Subdivision at 636 E 1440 S, Vernal.
The commission will also consider a preliminary plat approval for a six-unit Planned Unit Development Subdivision requested by Phase One Properties LLC for the property at 636 E 1440 S, Vernal.
Furthermore, the meeting will address land use ordinance amendments for Chapter 17.33, Uses. The proposed updates include regulations for produced water recycling and disposal, as well as changes regarding whether the Planning Commission or Staff will handle Conditional Use Permits.
The meeting will include the approval of the October 21, 2026, Planning Commission minutes. Individuals requiring special accommodations for the meeting should notify Matt Cazier at least five days prior to the meeting.
