Utahns from the northern reaches of Lewiston to the southern community of Torrey and east to Vernal will have the chance to see a powerful display of military aircraft on July 4 as part of the Freedom 250 flyover celebrating America’s 250th anniversary.

The U.S. Air Force Reserve’s 419th Fighter Wing at Hill Air Force Base and the Utah Air National Guard’s 151st Wing finalized the route, which will feature F-35A Lightning IIs flying over approved communities, with a KC-135R Stratotanker joining the formation for select segments. The flyover is scheduled between approximately 8:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. MDT on July 4, though all times are approximations and subject to change due to weather, fuel, maintenance, or air traffic needs.

The mission serves as routine training, delivering experience in navigation, precision timing, fuel management, and joint formation flying at no additional cost to taxpayers. Residents along the path should expect loud jet noise from low-flying aircraft and are encouraged to view the flyover safely from the ground.
