Newton officials have announced that fireworks are permitted within the Newton Town boundary following an exemption from the statewide restrictions issued by Governor Spencer J. Cox.

The permitted discharge period is scheduled from 5:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. on July 2, 3, 4, and 5.
