A BYU football player is facing DUI and other charges following a traffic stop in Provo. Police stated that linebacker Ephraim Asiata was pulled over on July 2nd and allegedly provided a deputy with a false name and date of birth before failing field sobriety and breath tests.
Investigators said the 20-year-old admitted to using a fake ID to purchase alcohol.
Asiata previously survived a 2023 shooting near a West Valley City school that resulted in the deaths of two other teenagers before he committed to play football at Brigham Young University.
The incident occurred in Provo, Utah, as reported by local authorities.
