A tribute concert for Juan Gabriel was scheduled for August 29 in Salt Lake City to commemorate the tenth anniversary of the artist's death, according to a August 28 report.
The Candlelight tribute event was set to take place at the Grand America Hotel at 7 p.m., featuring a string quartet performing the hits of the artist known as the Divo de Juárez.
The performance was intended for audiences aged 8 and older, with tickets made available through a digital platform.
Juan Gabriel, born Alberto Aguilera Valadez, passed away on the morning of August 28, 2016, in Santa Monica, California, following a sudden heart attack. His final performance occurred two days prior, on August 26, at the Forum in Inglewood, California, before an audience of more than 17,000 people.
Various tributes were planned globally to honor the influential Spanish-language music artist. These included a free mariachi event at the Plaza de Cultura y Artes in Los Angeles, a documentary screening in Chicago, and an outdoor concert in El Paso titled El Legado de Juan Gabriel.
