The Tremonton City Library Board held a meeting on April 8, 2026, to address various administrative updates and community programming. During the session, the board discussed upcoming board leadership roles and the conclusion of the Bear River Valley Library Consortium.

Leadership changes were discussed, with Vice Chairperson Mike Garrett agreeing to serve as the next Library Board Chairperson. Board Member Hayley Kearl agreed to serve as Vice Chairperson, and Board Member Rebecca Jeppesen agreed to serve as Board Secretary. The board is scheduled to approve these nominations at its next meeting in August.
Regarding community events, the library is planning a summer reading party themed Unearth a Good Story on May 29, which will focus on Indiana Jones. Additionally, the library is preparing for the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence through various celebration activities.
Director Kim Griffiths reported that the library plans to add a public AI program to allow patrons to explore music, art, and writing AI in a safe environment. The library is also considering the Storykin creative writing platform for teens and adults.
Strategic planning is underway for the 2027-2029 period. The board will use a public survey to identify community goals in areas including technology, teen services, and community partnerships. The board is expected to vote on these goals in October.
The Tremonton City Library reported high levels of community engagement through the first quarter of 2026. Notable activities included storytimes, STEAM Club events, and various community workshops such as a landscaping class and an author event with Katherine Wheelwright.
